Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage, with alterations from the 19th century. It is located 7 metres north-east of the Old Rectory. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble and squared rubble, with brick dressings and a pantile roof, featuring coped gables. There are two brick gable stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and originally had three bays. The west side has a central blocked doorway containing a two-light casement window that is not glazed. To the right of this doorway is a 19th-century close-boarded door. Above the blocked doorway is an altered three-light casement window. To the right of that, there is a blocked casement window with a stone surround. The rear elevation has a blocked doorway to the left, containing a casement window. To the right of this doorway is a casement window with a segmental head. Above, to the left, is a blocked casement, and to the right are two 19th-century casement windows. The north gable shows ruinous remains of what was a pigsty.
