Description
The carriage store, workshop, and adjoining loose box at Edmondthorpe Hall were built in 1869 and the late 19th century, designed by R. W. Johnson. The structure is made of coursed and squared ironstone with limestone dressings and features a steep pitched Swithland slate roof, complete with coped gables and a dormer with kneelers.
The north front is two storeys high and has five bays. It includes a central doorway with a segmental head and a sliding door, flanked on the left by two larger carriage entrances, also with segmental heads and pairs of close boarded doors. On the right, there is a two-light casement with a wooden lintel, followed by a close boarded door with a segmental head. Above, a large central cross eaves dormer contains the remains of a glazing bar sash with a keystoned segmental head. To the left, there is a two-bay loose box with a pair of doors in the centre, flanked by low coped walls. At the rear, there is a single storey gabled wing featuring a segmental headed door to the west and two casements with chamfered surrounds to the south.
