Description
The Red Lion Public House is a public house located on Main Street in Market Bosworth. Externally, it dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century, but it has a core that originates from the 16th century. The building is timber framed and encased in rough cast rendered brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof that features cresting. It is two storeys high and has six bays facing Main Street, along with a later 19th-century wing that extends to Park Street at the back. The leftmost bay appears to be a separate structure, with a lower roof covered in plain tiles. This section includes a three-light casement window, with a doorway beyond it and additional casement windows of three and four lights that have dentilled heads. Above, there are two gabled dormers, and to the right, there is an oriel bay situated beneath a dormer.
