Description

No. 5, now known as Small Cottage, is a house dating from 1715, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with the addition of a third storey in brick during the 19th century. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The building is three storeys high and has three bays. The original front door, now blocked and replaced with a window, is on the right, with two 3-light casement windows to the left. Casement windows are also present on the second and third storeys, and a datestone is located at first floor level. A side entry has been created, featuring a 3-light window with ovolo moulded mullions above it. The rear of the property has a contemporary wing with similarly styled ovolo moulded mullioned windows. The original roofline is visible in the gable wall. The building has coped gables and gable end stacks.
