Description
Nether Hall is a house dated 1709, constructed from whitewashed rendered brick with hipped and gabled roofs made of Swithland slate, featuring brick ridge and end stacks. The building has two ranges; the right range has a hipped roof and the left range, set behind, has a gabled roof. The right range includes a plinth, a band, and moulded eaves, and consists of two storeys with two 6/6 sash windows and two French windows below. The right end facing Hamilton Lane has two 2-light windows, a blank window, and a 1-light window above. There is a 20th-century two-storey flat-roofed extension at the angle between the two ranges. The left range also has two storeys with two 6/6 sashes above a similar sash and a six-panelled door (with glazed top panels) to the right. It features a band and moulded nogged brick eaves. On the inner return of the right range, there is an 8/8 sash window with a 6/6 window above. The right end facing Hamilton Lane displays 'W' and '09' in brick, although the rest is obscured by the subsequent 2-light window and the 20th-century extension. Inside, the house contains six-panelled doors and an early 18th-century oak staircase with three turned balusters leading to the tread.
