Description
The Cedars is a farmhouse with an early 18th-century core, significantly altered in the 19th century. The main structure is predominantly of ironstone rubble, with later additions and alterations in brick. It has a Welsh slate roof. The farmhouse originally comprised three units, though these now appear as varying builds. The bay to the left of the front doorway features an ironstone plinth and narrow 18th-century brickwork above, with a three-light casement window on the ground floor. The first floor in this section is of 19th-century brickwork and also contains a three-light casement. A line of heightening is visible in the gable wall. The right-hand section has an ironstone rubble ground floor, topped by late 18th or early 19th-century brickwork with whitish headers. A doorway is located to the left, with a large axial stack directly behind it. To the right of the doorway are two three-light casement windows with cambered brick heads, above which is a single two-light casement. The building has a brick gable and axial stacks, and a dentilled eaves cornice.
