Description

The Olde Royal Oak Public House is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of The Green in Bitteswell. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with end stacks. The building stands two and a half storeys tall and has a three-window front, which is wider in the outer bays. The first and second floors have 19th-century three-light casements, while the ground floor displays glazing bar sashes set within segment-headed surrounds. A central round-arched doorway is adorned with key- and impost-blocks, and it features a panelled door with a blind overlight. At the rear, there are slate-roofed wings and a 20th-century flat-roofed extension.
