Description

Turnpike Lodge is a house dating to the 18th century, with additions from the 19th century. The right-hand section of the house is roughcast with a painted half-timbered effect, while the left-hand section is simply roughcast. It has a thatched roof, with a hipped roof to the right-hand section and end stacks on both the left and right sides. Two eyebrow dormers are visible. The right-hand block has one and a half storeys and four windows on the ground floor, arranged irregularly, all with leaded casements. The left-hand block, visible as a gable-end to the road, has single casements on both the ground and first floors. A ribbed door is set within a porch on the left-hand side.
