Description
A pair of cottages dating from the early 17th century, with later 19th-century alterations. The cottages are timber-framed with brick infill, now rendered, and have thatched roofs with one gable stack and one stack on the rear wall. The north front has a plinth and a wooden cornice. It features 14 panels of square-framing. The ground floor, from left to right, has a 3-light casement window with glazing bars and a central opening, a doorway with a plank door, a similar window, a small 20th-century window, another 3-light casement, a doorway with a plank door, and a fixed light window with glazing bars. The upper floor has a 2-light casement with glazing bars, another similar casement, a smaller 2-light casement, and a 3-light casement. All openings have flat arches. All doors and windows are from the 19th century. Attached to the right is a single-storey brick addition with a thatched lean-to roof and a tall stack. The interior is believed to contain many original beams and joists.
