4/3 The Old School and Master's Cottage (Previously listed as The Old 8.5.81 School).

Former school, now dwelling. 1834. Coursed ironstone rubble with hipped Welsh slate roof. Single storeyed with main block of five bays. The central bay is a projecting full height coped gabled porch with modern doorway and blocked window above. 2-light wood mullioned and transomed windows with latticed cast iron glazing bars to each side, with chamfered stone heads with voussoirs. Overhanging eaves. Set back to the left is a smaller additional block linked to the main range by a single bay containing doorway with cambered stone head. The additional block is also of ironstone rubble with pyramidal roof with central finial. It contains two 2-light wood mullioned and transomed windows and there is a gathered brick chimney. Late C19 red brick school master's cottage adjoins to rear.
