Description

Rose Cottage is an early 17th-century house, originally three dwellings. It is timber-framed with brick infill and a thatched roof. The construction is post and truss, with the house being two storeys high and having a roof space attic. There are three main bays, featuring arch bracing to the main posts, with additional vertical posts in the right-hand bay. A single middle rail is present. The doorway is now located in the central bay, with two 2-light casement windows to its left and one renewed window to the right. Two eyebrow dormers are situated above. There is no sill beam, with the vertical posts rising directly from brick. A simple A-frame roof truss is visible in the gable wall. A single axial stack is present.
