Description
The barn at Hall Farm, built in 1750, is a Grade II listed structure. It features granite and slate rubble stone for its plinth and exterior walls, with red brick lining. The barn has decorative brick cambered lintels with black headers, a moulded brick cornice, and a roof made of Swithland slate. Positioned to the right of the farm entrance, the gable faces outward. The barn consists of four bays and is two storeys high, with one of the ground floor ceiling beams carved with the year 1750. Inside, there is a double purlin roof supported by arched braces that rise to collars, along with curved wind braces. The wooden steps and first-floor partitioning may be original, and the ground floor has a cobbled floor. There are various openings, some of which are blocked. At the rear, there are double doors with two blocked openings above, and a two-light window with a cambered lintel is located in the front gable. This barn is of fine quality and remains almost unaltered.
