Description
The gazebo, walls, and outhouse at Hall Farm date from the 18th century, with the outhouse added in the 19th century. The gazebo, constructed from granite and slate rubble stone, features a pointed Swithland slate roof and is a small circular tower with two storeys. It has a door at the base, small one-light openings, and tiny slits above. Locally referred to as a lock-up, it is more likely to be a folly boundary tower or gazebo, especially since there is a pair at opposite ends of the site of Old Swithland Hall. Two granite and slate rubble stone walls, approximately 3 meters high, extend from the gazebo at right angles to each other, leading to a stable and a barn from 1750, both of which are listed separately. An outhouse with brick piers and a Swithland slate roof is attached to the wall near the barn.
