Description
The barn at Rearsby House Farm is a large structure dated 1715. It is built of brick and has a new tiled roof. The barn features a central high double doorway with a steep segmental brick arched head, flanked by pilaster buttresses. In the left bay, there is a single squared light, and the date is indicated in blue bricks. The right bay is obscured by a modern building that is at right angles to it. The gables are steeply coped in brick, with the uppermost gable being a 19th-century rebuild and nogged. Inside, buttresses support the tie beams of roughly shaped trusses, which are braced. The principal rafters are halved and pinned, with trenched purlins. The lower tie beams provide the basis for an inserted floor.
