Description
Wymeswold House is a large house set in grounds, built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a rubble plinth and features a Swithland slate roof. The house is tall, with two storeys and five bays. The central door is topped with a traceried fanlight and is framed by a Tuscan columned porch. The building has tall 19th-century sash windows, consisting of 12 and 18 lights, with gauged brick heads. There are sections of brick bands running between the windows on both floors, and a modillion eaves cornice adds to its architectural detail. The house has gable and axial stacks. To the right, there is a tall single-storey addition that features 20th-century French windows and a decorative curved eaves line on the side elevation, which includes one gothic window with Y-tracery.
