Description
Abbotsbury Court is a house that dates from the 18th century, with possible origins in the early 17th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick, featuring a high granite rubble stone plinth and a band in part, with brick nogged eaves in part. The roof is made of Swithland and Welsh slate, with a brick ridge and left end projecting stacks. The building has a gable to the right and stands 2½ storeys tall, with two 3-light horizontal sliding sash windows that include top lights, along with a 2-light window in the gable attic. On the ground floor, there are two 3-light casements. The entrance is located at the rear in a wing. The building has a date of A.D. 1607 inscribed in later figures on the band. Inside, there are visible features such as chamfered beams, an inglenook, and a tie beam truss. This structure was formerly known as the White Swan Inn.
