Description

The barn at Bybrook Farm, dating from the 16th to 17th century, has been refaced later. It features a granite and slate rubble stone plinth, red brick, timber framing, and a corrugated roof. The brick facing includes ventilation diamonds. Inside, there is a pair of cruck blades, and the roof has a single purlin with other timbering that may have been altered or reused. The roof extends to the left over an open archway. The right end of the barn continues the gable line of No. 23 (Bybrook Farm Cottage), with only a small gap between them, indicating that they were originally part of one long barn range. Bybrook Farmhouse, the barn, and the cottage together create an interesting group.
