Description

Sandham Bridge is a pack horse bridge dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed from granite and slate rubble stone and features two rounded arches with pointed cut waters that rise into the parapet, creating niches on both the upstream and downstream sides. The bridge has embankments on either side, and the end closest to the road is splayed. The path across the bridge is cobbled. Sandham Bridge is located approximately 250 yards west of Anstey Lane and carries a footpath over Rothley Brook.
