Description

Broombriggs House is a house dating to approximately 1820, with a rear wing from the 18th century. It is constructed of granite and slate rubble stone, partially rendered, with a hipped roof covered in Swithland slate, featuring brick end stacks. The main part of the house has two storeys and three eight-over-eight sash windows on each floor. The windows have stucco lintels and sills. A central doorcase shelters the front door, which has an overlight with curved astragals. A rectangular bay, added in the 19th century, extends from the left end, with an eight-over-eight sash window on the first floor. To the right of this, on the ground floor, is a one-story stable block. The rear wing is of painted rubble stone with a Swithland slate roof and a central ridge stack. It has two 3-light casement windows in the centre, a door with a Swithland slate canopy to the far left, and another to the far right. Inside, the house contains an early 19th-century staircase.
