Description
The Methodist Church, located on Chapel Lane in Barrow-upon-Trent, is a non-conformist chapel built in 1839. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with a sawtooth eaves cornice. The south elevation includes a pointed doorway fitted with 20th-century double doors and a Gothic fanlight above. There is a stone panel inscribed with "BETHEL ERECTED ANNO DOMINI 1839." Both the west and east elevations have three tall pointed windows adorned with Gothic glazing bars. A low vestry is attached to the north side, which has two pointed windows with Gothic glazing bars. Inside, the church features a gallery with a panelled front, supported by two slender iron columns.
