Description
Old Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, which incorporates features from the 16th century. It is built of red brick and has a plain tile roof with brick gable stacks and a dentil eaves cornice. The building is two storeys high with a south elevation that has three bays. The central doorway, which is from the 20th century, is flanked by 3-light casements that are set under segmental arches. Above this, there is a 20th-century 2-light casement, also flanked by 3-light casements, all of which are under timber lintels. Inside, the farmhouse features exposed beams and an impressive 16th-century stud partition that is closely studded, made of large timber, and includes a blocked segment-headed doorway at the first floor level. This partition likely includes re-used materials from the partly demolished 16th-century Twyford Hall.
