Description
Ivy Farm Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick on a stone plinth, featuring plain brick bands on the first and second floors. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a large brick ridge stack, along with a smaller one, and a dentilled eaves band. The building has two storeys plus garrets and is arranged in three bays with a lobby entrance plan.
The entrance features an off-centre doorcase with a 20th-century half-glazed door and a plain overlight, flanked by two 2-light 20th-century casements on the east side and one similar window on the west side. Above the entrance, there are three similar windows, with a fire insurance plaque located between the western windows. All openings have cambered heads. The east gable wall includes a wide 3-light segment-headed window with 20th-century casements on the ground and first floors, and a similar 2-light window in the garret above.
