Description
Spring Farmhouse and Attached Barn is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century and later. It features rendered brick and timber framing, with plain tile roofs that include external stacks, gable stacks, and ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a south elevation with three bays. The off-centre doorway has a segment head and a 20th-century door. To the right, there is a 3-light 20th-century casement window, while to the left, there are a 3-light and a 2-light casement, followed by a 19th-century 2-light casement. Above, there are three 3-light 20th-century casements.
Attached to the left is a brick barn, which features a segment-headed doorway with a plank door and another doorway with a flat arch and a plank door. Inside the barn, the gable end of the house reveals exposed box framing made of substantial timbers, with upward braces. The interior of the farmhouse includes a massive fireplace with a bressumer and later infill, a winder staircase against the stack, stop-chamfered beams, and evidence of stud partitions.
