Description
The Homestead is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with some parts rebuilt in the mid-20th century. It features box timber framing set on a stone plinth, painted brick nogging, and a concrete tile roof with overhanging gable ends and a central brick ridge stack. The building has two bays and is a single storey plus garrets.
On the west elevation, there is a 20th-century glazed door to the north, which is sheltered by a bracketed porch roof. To the south, there are two 20th-century glazing bar casements. The entire facade has been rebuilt in the 20th century. The gable walls are original and include diagonal braces at the top corners, with exposed queen post trusses above. Each gable features a central casement window and diagonal braces above the collars. There are also 20th-century lean-tos at the rear. Inside, the cottage has one inglenook fireplace and chamfered beams.
