Description

The monument located at the south-east corner of the south aisle of Eckington Parish Church is a stone chest tomb dated 1685. It commemorates Henry Hazelhurst, who died in 1685, and his wife Francis, who died in 1706. The tomb features a plain sarcophagus topped with a cover that has a moulded rim. The cover is inscribed with a long text, framed by a broad margin that is decorated with vine motifs and circular pattern forms.
