Description

A terrace of four houses stands on Market Street in Eckington, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of regularly coursed, squared coal measures sandstone, featuring horizontal channelling. They have moulded kneelers, coped gables, and wide gable and ridge stone stacks, although these have largely been reduced in height. A moulded timber cornice is supported by timber brackets, and the roof is covered with Welsh slate.

Each of the four bays is arranged over three storeys, with stacked glazing bar sashes. Some of these windows have been replaced with 20th-century pivot windows, but all are set within flush stone surrounds and have flush lintels and projecting cills. The doorways have massive stone frames, rectangular overlights, and generally 20th-century glazed doors.
