Description
Number 29 and its attached cottage date to the late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition, and were restored in the 1980s. The house is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with gritstone dressings, while the cottage has a stone slate roof with brick and remaining stone details. The main house is three bays wide and two storeys high, while the cottage is a single bay and two storeys, being significantly lower in height. The house features an off-centre doorcase characterized by massive jambs, a lintel, and imposts, with a 20th-century plank door. Flanking the door are two-light flush mullion windows, and above them are similar windows, with a central semi-circular headed window featuring a projecting keystone. To the south is the cottage, with a 19th-century doorcase and a 20th-century door to the north. A plain sash window is located to the south, and a horizontal sliding sash above. All windows, except those in the 19th-century addition, have 20th-century leaded lights.
