Description
The Mill at Higham Dairy Farm is a watermill built in 1750, with a 19th-century addition. It is constructed of coursed square sandstone, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins, and has plain tile roofs. The stone-coped gables are supported by plain kneelers. The building has two bays and stands two storeys tall, plus attics.
On the west elevation, there is a flush quoined doorcase with a plank door. To the south, there is a 2-light flush mullion window, with a similar window located above it. To the north, there is a lower two-storey 19th-century addition, which has two doorcases on the south elevation; the one to the west features a large punched stone lintel, with an inserted door above. The west gable wall includes two windows, while both the south and north gable walls each have two 18th-century 2-light flush mullion windows, one positioned above the other. Remains of machinery can still be seen on the north side of the mill.
