Description
Flatt Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse that has been converted into a house, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from watershot, narrow coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof with two end stacks.
The building is two storeys high and has a front that includes three windows. The central doorway is framed by a round-headed rusticated door surround and is flanked by single three-light flush mullion windows. Above the doorway, there is a central two-light window, which has had its mullion removed, and this is flanked by two single three-light flush mullion windows. The windows on the right side have deeper openings.
On the left side, there is a range of adjoining outbuildings. The right side has an inserted window under a narrow lintel on the first floor. At the rear, there is a slight outshut on the parlour side, featuring a narrow eight-pane staircase window, which was originally longer, as well as a ground floor three-light mullioned window. All windows have 20th-century uPVC glazing. Notably, the letters "GP" have been carved into the left-hand door architrave. The interior has not been inspected.
