Description

Hallam Fields Bridge is a bridge over the Erewash Canal, built in 1779 by engineer John Varley, with later repairs. It is constructed of gritstone and red brick, with some repairs made in brick and concrete. The bridge features a single segmental arch, and its walls curve out slightly towards the end piers while being slightly ramped up towards the center. The gritstone copings have been partly replaced with concrete. This structure is listed for its group value only.
