Description
J and H Lacey Warehouse is a lace factory that has been converted into a shop warehouse. It was built in 1857 with later additions. The building is constructed of red brick and features a 20th-century concrete tile roof along with a moulded brick band. It stands three storeys tall and has five bays. The ground floor includes six segment-headed windows with rounded jambs and heads, as well as an iron window with small opening casements on the east and west elevations. The windows on the east elevation are partly obscured by later lean-tos. Above the ground floor, there are six similar windows, and another six similar windows above that. On the north side of the east elevation, there is an advanced staircase bay with small segment-headed windows. The south gable wall has a stone plaque at the top inscribed with '1857'. Inside, there are plain iron columns at the center of each floor. There is a seven-bay later 19th-century addition and a 20th-century shop to the north, which are of no interest.
