Description

Potter's Lock Bridge is a bridge over the Erewash Canal, built in 1779 by the engineer John Varley, with later repairs. It is constructed of red brick and gritstone and features a single segmental arch. The walls curve out slightly towards the end piers and are ramped to the center. The original gritstone copings have largely been replaced with concrete. This bridge is listed for its group value only.
