Description

The Green Hall is an early 18th-century house located on The Green Road in the parish of Offcote and Underwood. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and features plain tile roofs. The building stands two and a half storeys high and has two brick eaves stacks, two brick stacks in the pitch of the roof, and an external stone stack that is brick in its upper parts.

The east elevation consists of five bays and has twin gables adorned with stone copings and banded ball finials, which are connected by a stone balustrade. The façade is accentuated by projecting quoins. A central doorway is accessed by five steps and is framed by a wooden doorcase with a bracketed segmental pediment. The door itself is a six-panelled raised and fielded design with a rectangular overlight above, and there is a glazing bar sash window above the door.

On either side of the entrance, there are giant rusticated pilasters that support a plain entablature, which is linked to the balustrade. The left gabled bay features two glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor and two similar windows above, while the right gabled bay mirrors this arrangement. All windows are detailed with brick voussoirs and small keystones.

The south elevation includes a round-arched staircase window with an oculus window above it. There is a flat-roofed 20th-century single-storey extension and 19th-century extensions to the west. The interior is reported to contain timber-framed walls.
