Description

Matlock Mill is a corn mill located on Bentley Brook, originally powered by water, although no machinery remains. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed stone rubble, rising to four storeys. The west side features an advanced central bay with three windows that have later glazing bars, along with a doorway that has an arched head and a segmental fanlight. Each side wing has three windows, which are partly obscured by later enclosures for a sack hoist. The building has plain eaves and a slate roof. Matlock Mill, St Andrew's House, and the former Malt House of Matlock Mill form a group.
