Description
Dove House is an early 18th-century building located on Dovehouse Green. It features a combination of chequered brick and stone dressings, with quoins at the corners. The roof has coved stone eaves and is covered with old tiles. The house is two storeys high and has five unbarred windows set in moulded architraves. The entrance has later stuccoed pilastered doorcases with outer architraves, and a Gothic glazed rectangular fanlight above semi-circular steps. There is a one-storey wing with a 19th-century bay on the northern side. Inside, the house includes some panelling, a staircase, and two semi-circular arches across the hall. Dove House, along with its garden wall and gazebo, forms a group with the Pump on Bellevue Road and Nos 24 and 26 on Union Street.
