Description

This is a large, mid-18th century brick house constructed onto an earlier stone range. The front facade, facing Coldwell Street, is three stories high and features three sash windows with flat brick arches. A slightly projecting central section contains the main entrance, which has a rectangular fanlight set within a moulded stone architrave topped by a pediment supported by consoles. Stone steps lead to the entrance, flanked by cast iron railings. The Blind Lane elevation is also three stories high and includes four 17th-century two-light mullioned windows, two of which lack glazing bars, alongside a single-light window without glazing bars. The ground floor of this elevation has three 18th-century Venetian windows – glazing bars are only present on the window at number 2 – and three modern ledged doors, two of which are set into earlier, chamfered recesses. The roof has plain eaves and is covered in old stone tiles.
