Description
Ox Close Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and features plain tile roofs with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. A ball finial adorns the west gable end. The building has a central brick stack, which is partly rendered, and a brick stack at the gable end. It has an unequal T-plan and consists of two storeys plus attics, with flush quoins.
The south elevation has three bays, with a central doorway that has chamfered quoins and a lintel, leading to a half-glazed 19th-century door. To the left of the door, there is a 3-light recessed chamfer mullion window with a dripmould, and a similar window is located above it, along with a 2-light window above the door. To the right, there is a broad 2-light recessed chamfer mullion window low down, with a 3-light recessed chamfer mullion window with a dripmould above it, and another similar 3-light window above that.
The west gable end features a 3-light recessed chamfer mullion window with a dripmould on the ground floor, with a similar window above it and another blocked single light window with a dripmould in the gable. Other elevations include single light, 2-light, and 3-light recessed chamfer mullion windows, while the north elevation has one 20th-century window insertion.
