Description

No 1 Somersall Lane is an early 19th-century lodge, part of a pair that marks the entrance to the former drive leading to Somersall Hall. The building is constructed of stucco and features wide eaves, with hipped stone slate roofs that are shaped at the corners. It has a central stack with diagonal shafts. The lodge is a single storey and has two pointed windows on each side, with cast iron casements set in painted stone architraves. The doors are four-centred arched. The overall design is picturesque. There is also a single storey flat-roofed modern extension to the west.
