Description

Top Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with an addition and alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble and brick, with slate roofs and brick wall and ridge stacks. A dentilled eaves band runs along the roofline.

The farmhouse has a two-bay front elevation and a lower, earlier rear wing to the left. The front elevation features two twenty-pane sash windows above segment-headed arches on the ground floor, and two similar sash windows set below the eaves on the first floor. The rear elevation has a centrally positioned gabled porch with oversailing eaves and a half-glazed door. To the left of the porch is a three-light casement window, and to the right, a similar two-light window, with a plank door beyond. Above, there are three irregularly placed two-light casement windows, two of which are set within moulded timber architraves.
