Description
The Old George Inn is an 18th-century coaching inn, now converted into flats. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings, and has a hipped Welsh slate roof with two ashlar ridge stacks. The north elevation is symmetrical, with four bays. The central doorway has a keyed moulded doorcase and hoodmould, leading to a pair of panelled doors. Either side of the doorway are 20th-century top-hung casement windows under plain lintels, and then glazing bar sashes under similar lintels. Above are four similar windows; the two central ones are 20th-century casements, and the outer two are glazing bar sashes. Three roof dormers are present, with small-pane glazing and flat roofs.
