Description

The Western Building across Chevin Road at Crossroads Farm is an early 19th-century structure built of ashlar stone. It features a coped gable end, a slate roof, and a stone chimney that rises from the eaves on the road side. The building is two storeys high, although the road elevation is single storey and blank. The south side slopes down and has two storeys. The ground floor includes a brick-lined carriageway arch at the west end, along with nine windows and stable doors, each with narrow horizontal iron vents above. The first floor has eleven iron-framed windows with stone surrounds, though four of these windows are now bricked up. The front of the building displays end plates of iron braces, and there is a trough under the attached eastern stone wall. The east end elevation has a blocked window situated above the garage doors.
