Description
The Old Coach House is a house that was formerly used as kennels, built in 1872. It features coursed squared rubble and a slate roof. The main part of the building is two storeys high and has an arcade of six bays on the ground floor, creating a colonnade with the main front wall of the house set back and modern. Two of the bays have been filled in. The arcade has segmental arches with ashlar voussoirs and keystones. Above, there are cambered stone heads to the sash windows, as well as to all openings on the rear, which also includes sash windows on both the ground and first floors. The building has moulded kneelers, coped gables, and moulded stone gable end stacks. To the left, there is a single storey range that continues the arcade for an additional five bays. To the right, a decorative gable is placed against the true gable wall and features a date stone, with a single storey lean-to extending beyond it.
