Description

Church Farmhouse is a 17th-century house with an 19th-century outbuilding. It is constructed of squared stone with a Collyweston slate roof, stone coped gables (part shouldered), and a broken stone finial to the front gable. A moulded stone stack sits on the central ridge, and there is an end stack to the rear. The house is arranged in an "L" shape, with the main range projecting forward to the road, facing with a gable. The windows are stone mullion windows. A shallow two-story canted bay window is set on the gable end, featuring a five-light window to each floor and a three-light window with a hood mould above. To the left end are two and three-light windows, and a door with a porch. There's a three-light window over a two-light window and a four-light window over a three-light window on the inner return. A former door has been filled with a two-light window, with a further two-light and a three-light window above, on the front facing wall. The right end gable has a blocked basement window with a two-light design, and a three-light window on each floor above, the upper one with a hood mould. A door with a porch and a single light are in the right return. A single-story extension with a pantile roof adjoins the right side. The outbuilding, situated in the angle of the "L", is constructed of similar materials, with finials to the gables. A small gable with a first-floor door faces the road. It has a two-light window on the left end, three blank windows on the right end, and windows and doors to the rear.
