Description

This is a house dating from the 17th/early 18th century, located on the west side of West Street in Clipsham. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with stone dressings, stone coped gables, and a Collyweston slate roof with a moulded stone central ridge. The house has a stone plinth. The front elevation has two storeys with four renewed two and three-light casement windows, each with stone lintels and keystones. A door with an overlight is centrally positioned to the right, flanked by three-light windows on either side. A Britannia fire mark is positioned above the door. A one-and-a-half-story Post Office wing projects forward on the left. There are two blocked small windows on the right end of the building. A stone mullion window is located on the rear elevation. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with a cambered beam, alongside chamfered ceiling beams.
