Description
Church Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century, featuring mid-18th century cladding and early 20th century restoration and extension. The building has mainly brick walls and a tiled roof. The front (east) elevation is two storeys high with two windows. It has a hipped roof with a large chimney stack, which has a brick dentilled base supporting four diagonal flues. The red brickwork is laid in English bond, with cambered arches over the ground floor windows that now relieve the flat tops of the windows. There are two flint panels at the lowest level, and the windows are casements. The doorway features a moulded hood supported by carved brackets and has a boarded door. The north and part of the west elevations display exposed timber-framing with rendered and brick panels, while the south end is tile-hung. Adjacent to the house on the south side is an enclosure surrounded by a high wall, which has a rendered surface and pantile capping.
