Description
Nos. 11 and 12 are an irregular pair of cottages with origins in the 17th century, but they mainly feature an exterior from the early 19th century. The cottages are a long, narrow block, with No. 11 facing south and No. 12 facing north. They are constructed from brick and flint and topped with a thatched roof. The buildings are one storey with an attic, and they have irregular window arrangements. The roof is half-hipped, with No. 12 having a higher ridge and lower eaves, along with wide eyebrows over the dormers on the south (rear) side.
No. 11 showcases red brickwork with narrow flint banding on three sides, while the front (north) of No. 12 features larger flint panels and blue and red brick banding. There are also fragments of exposed timber-framing in the upper part of No. 12 on the south side. Both cottages have casement windows. No. 11 includes a 20th-century gabled and boarded porch on the south side, while No. 12 has a plain doorway on the north side.
