Description
This is an early to mid-19th century house with attached outbuildings, which were originally a pair of cottages. The house is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with Uppingham stone quoins and window dressings. It has a 20th century concrete tile roof with stone coped gables and red brick chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has two bays. It features four-pane sash windows, a central top-lit flush-panelled door, and all openings have bonded jambs and stone lintels. The outbuildings are also of coursed ironstone rubble, but now have a corrugated iron roof, formerly thatched. Originally of one and a half storeys, they are now a single storey high and have two bays. Each bay contains a board door to the left and a shuttered window to the right, all with stone lintels. There is also a narrow window to the left. Traces of blocked openings are visible below the eaves line. The building is included on the list for its group value.
