Description

Bede Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with refurbishment around 1960 and an addition from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with a concrete tile roof over the original left bays and Welsh slates to the 19th-century bay. Brick chimneys rise from the gables. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The ground floor windows are 20th-century horizontal sliding sashes with wooden shutters; the window in the right bay is three lights and has a stone lintel. The first floor has 20th-century paired wooden casements. A small staircase window, framed by chamfered stone, sits between the left bays. Between the same bays is an early to mid-19th-century flush-panelled door fitted with top lights.
