Description
The Spinney is a house dating from the 17th century, located on Rectory Lane in Edith Weston. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and features a thatched roof, which has a central ridge made of stone and brick, along with brick end stacks. The gables are coped with stone.
The house has two storeys and five windows. From the left, there is a two-light stone framed window, although the mullion is missing, with a hood mould above and a two-light stone mullion window above it. Next, there is a two-light stone mullion window on both floors, the lower one also featuring a hood mould. A 20th-century stone porch with a door and windows is present, alongside a one-light stone framed window and a two-light casement window above it. There is also a three-light casement window with a similar two-light window above. To the left of the last window, there is a blocked two-light stone mullion window.
On the left end of the house, there is a small one-storey lean-to extension, and on the right end, there is a blocked stone framed window. Inside, the house features beams and an inglenook fireplace.
