Description
The Grange, along with its adjoining stableblock, wall, piers, and gate, is a house complex dated 1851. It is constructed from ashlar and coursed rubble stone. The house features a plinth, rusticated quoins, a first-floor band, stone dressings, a dentilled cornice, and a hipped roof covered with tiles from the 20th century, complete with a stone stack at the left end. The building is two storeys high, with a 2/2 sash window on both floors, flanking a central section that has a projecting stone porch. Above the porch is another sash window, and the section is topped with a pediment that includes a carved lion's head within a central bull's eye. The window architraves are adorned with carved head keystones, while the porch features pilasters and a balustrade decorated with urns, along with a pair of 1-light windows on the sides. Inside, there is a glazed door with a stone surround. To the right of the house is a two-storey wing. The stableblock, also dated 1851, has a Welsh slate roof and is designed in a similar style but is less ornate. Extending from the house is a stone wall that includes a pair of piers and a cast iron pedestrian gate.
